How to covert a record/table type to Text

I am trying to use data from a cell in an excel table, and then use the data from the cell in another formula.

This is the code I am using:

Set( eventID, Filter(Leave, LeaveID = GalleryRequests.Selected.LeaveID).EventID);

Office365Outlook.CalendarDeleteItemV2(
           varUserCalendarId,
           eventID
);

The varUserCalenderId works just fine.

eventID is a variable that contains the cell data i need to use. However, when used as shown in the above code, i get the error: Invalid argument type (table). Expecting a text value.

I tried using the Text() function but that didnt work either.

    Filter will return a table.  If you are looking for a single value, then consider using LookUp instead.

    Your Formula would become:

    Set( eventID, LookUp(Leave, LeaveID = GalleryRequests.Selected.LeaveID, EventID));

    Office365Outlook.CalendarDeleteItemV2(
     varUserCalendarId,
     eventID
    );

    I hope this is helpful for you.

    Hello!

    Thanks for your response, it seems to have solved the type error by using Lookup.

    However, now i am getting a 404: resource not found error.

    This is my code:

    Set( eventID, LookUp(Leave, LeaveID = GalleryRequests.Selected.LeaveID).EventID);

    Office365Outlook.CalendarDeleteItemV2(
    varUserCalendarId,
    eventID
    );

    can you help?

    That error does not seem to be related to the formula.

    To verify, place a test Label on your screen and set the Text property to:

        LookUp(Leave, LeaveID = GalleryRequests.Selected.LeaveID).EventID

    This should show the corresponding number from the Leave table based on the selection in the Gallery.  See if that functions properly.

    Hello,

    Yeah i tried that, and it prints the text just fine. So i'm not sure what else it could be?

    Then the issue is with the Calendar action.

    Are you sure your calendar ID is correct and that the corresponding EventID is correct?  If not, you will get the resource not found error.

    Yeah the calendar ID is for sure correct, as I used that same variable to set the event in the calendar.

    I think it might be the EventID bit thats wrong?

    I was trying to get information from a specific cell in an excel table that is in the EventID column. I want it to retrieve the cell from EventID column where the same row contains this value (GalleryRequests.Selected.LeaveID) in the LeaveID column. Do you know of another way to do this?
