PowerApp- Link each item on Drop down list to different screen

Hello all,

I have created a budget tracker using excel as a data source and now want to link a drop down list containing different months to individual/different screens. I am pretty new to PowerApps learnings but think I need to make some changes to the OnChange and OnSelect property of the drop down list.

For eg: Different months starting from Dec, Jan, Mar, April and so on. I want to link each month to a new screen when user clicks on a particular month.

Please help!!!

In the OnChange property of your dropdown, you can use an If statement or Switch to Navigate to the appropriate screen.

An example:
Switch( Dropdown.Selected, "January", Navigate(Screen1), "February", Navigate(Screen2), "March", Navigate(Screen3))

And so on. Let me know if this helps.

Hi ,

Thank you for your response. I tried, however I am getting an error stating "Invalid Argument Type (text); expecting a record value". I think there is an issue with the text - January, February and so on.

Yes, how are you populating your dropdown? In other words, what is the Items property of the dropdown?

Hello,

oh yes; i think there is a problem with items too; nothing is defined as such it is just displaying "Month" which is the title of my list
I am pretty new so not sure what should go under Items. I have linked the list with an excel data source though which has only months listed

If the dropdown just has the months listed, I would probably create a local table with something like this:
["January", "Februrary", "March", "April", "May", "June", "July", "August", "September", "October", "November", "December"]

Then you can access the selected month by using:
Dropdown.Selected.Value
