Trouble opening Power Apps Studio

Hi All,

I'm trying to start my day working on some apps and I can't get anything to open. I've tried both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. I've checked the date and time on my computer (that was suggested in a post I read.) I've also cleared internet browser data in both.

This is the error I get when I try to open power apps on my computer.

"There is a problem with Power Apps Studio right now please try again later.

Failed to obtain authoring session token from RP. Cannot read property 'payload' of null"

How is your organization setup for authentication? Do you have MFA in place? Any sort of hybrid AD setup?

We've seen something similar in the past, which required us to login to something like portal.office.com first (to correctly authenticate), before we could log in to make.powerapps.com.

    @GarethPrisk  thanks for the reply.

I go through Microsoft office home and log in via my company credentials which after a clearing of cashe sends my phone a code then I enter that. I just tried going to your link. portal.office.com, that's the same place I get to my power apps link from.

So you can log in to portal.office.com?
After that, what happens when you try to navigate to make.powerapps.com in the same browser session?

I get to the point where I try to select make a power  app from blank or if I try to modify existing power app... I get the error as I tries to open.

    Where are you located?
What type of PowerApps license do you have?

Are you trying to make an app in the default environment?

What role do you have in the environment?

I am located in Ontario, Canada. I think I have the free license or whatever my organization gets with office 365. I've been building apps since around February of 2020, this is the first occurrence of this type of issue.

I'm trying to open previously built apps that I've made, and or make a new blank canvas one.

Not sure what my role is other than I'm not an admin. I'm just an engineer building apps.

    That's a bummer!

Have your admins open a ticket on your behalf at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/get-help-support

Doesn't seem like you're doing anything wrong. It may be due to an authentication change, or licensing change in your org. Not sure! Either way, all of the apps you had worked on should persist. Hope you can get access again soon.
