Save data based on date range

I am hoping someone can help, I want to save data to two different lists based on dates. Not sure if it is possible.

So if the user picks a date (date picker) that falls between Jan1-June31s then I will save that record to List A. 

If the they choose a date from July1-Dec31st then it saves in List B.

    Try this:

     

    Write the month number from the chosen date to a variable.

    In the submit button use an if statement to check if the value of the month number is less than 7, if it is, patch to list1, if it isn't patch to list2
