I have moved over to the new Microsoft outlook 365. I had a pre existing PAD flow that would download attachments from emails and save them into a shared drive. When I try to run this job, it still tries to open up my old Outlook that is incredibly slow. Is there any way to force it to open new Outlook? I saw there are 365 actions but I don't see anything that launches the application or how to have it download attachments from a specific outlook folder.
you can’t force that existing PAD flow to use “new Outlook” – the classic Outlook actions in Power Automate Desktop only know how to talk to the old, COM-based Outlook (classic). The new Outlook is basically a web app and doesn’t expose the same automation hooks, so PAD falls back to opening the old client.
If the flow is critical and you don’t want to rewrite it right away:
Keep Outlook (classic) installed alongside new Outlook.
Let PAD use the classic client only for that automation.
You can keep using new Outlook for your day-to-day email.
