How to Tag Records During Excel Import in Model-Driven App

I’m using the Excel import function in a model-driven app and would like to know if there’s a way to tag all the records imported in each upload transaction so that they can be easily distinguished later.

For example, if I upload 100 rows today and 50 tomorrow, I want each batch to have a unique identifier or tag for reporting or filtering purposes.

Is there a built-in feature for this, or would I need a custom approach (like adding a column before import or using Power Automate)?

Thanks for sharing that! The Import Sequence Number attribute is definitely useful when working with data imports in Dataverse. It helps maintain the order of imported records and can be handy for troubleshooting or automation scenarios.

I’ll check out Nishant Rana’s blog for more details—looks like a great resource!

    Appreciate the tip 💜
